I’ve been driving my family crazy listening to Amazing Grace on repeat and having a little sob-fest, much like Lil, the main character in Christmas at the Gingerbread Café. Who doesn’t cry when they hear that song? Please tell me Lil and I aren’t the only ones? Especially since Lil is fictional! Or is she? I’ve been so caught up in the release of Christmas at the Gingerbread Café that the characters have become part of my life! My family think I’m cuckoo when I name drop Lil, CeeCee or Damon, or a gingerbread recipe we created at the café. They say something like, “BUT YOU DON’T WORK AT THE CAFE, IT’S A FICTIONAL PLACE.” Harrumph. Notice how they speak to me in capitals? And so what if they’re fictional people, they’re still very cool to spend some time with!
A little news on the writing front … Christmas at the Gingerbread Café seems to have been received quite well, and in the interim I signed a four book deal with Carina, and I am ecstatic to tell you that one of these will be a follow up to Lil and Damon’s story. I’ve started writing it, and must admit, I’m so happy to be back with my friends! My fictional friends! I missed them terribly, but had a few weeks to research some new recipes that we’ll bake, I mean they’ll bake … Geez.
In total I will have six books out with Carina next year, one under the pseudonym Billie Jones. I can’t be held responsible for Billie. She needs her own blog! But until then, Billie’s book is titled Snake Typhoon, and is an action adventure pulpy kind of story, that’s a bit of a belly grabber. More news to follow soon, but rough release date for that is January.
I’ll check in before Christmas, until then, here’s a shameless plug for my novella. Aren’t you a little curious about my fictional BFF’s?

Christmas is the season the Gingerbread Café was made for…but owner Lily couldn’t be feeling less merry if she tried. She’s spent another year dreaming of being whisked away on a sleigh-ride for two, but she’s facing festive season alone – again. And, just to give her another reason to feel anything other than candy-cane perky, a new shop across the road has opened… Not only is it selling baked goods, but the owner, with his seriously charming smile, has every girl in town swooning.
But Lily isn’t about to let her business crumble — the Gingerbread Café is the heart of the community, and she’s going to fight for it! This could be the Christmas that maybe, just maybe, all her dreams – even the someone-to-decorate-the-Christmas-tree-with ones – really do come true!
