Christmas at the Gingerbread Cafe book launch

My very first novella, Christmas at the Gingerbread Café is now available. The response so far has been overwhelming. I’ve had so much support from family and friends, and from people I’ve never met. As some of you might know, I’m a bit of a crier, much like my character, Lil. So while people were helping spread the word about the novella, I was kind of sitting there, happy crying, and in a sort of I-can’t-believe-this-is-happening daze. This only increased when I was contacted by people who read the book as soon as it was delivered to them, and told me what they loved about it. It truly is an amazing feeling knowing your work is being read, and enjoyed.

My lovely editor, Victoria, baked up some gingerbread men cupcakes, and I only wish I could have transported myself to her kitchen in the UK to try them! You can check out the Carina blog, where I discuss a little bit about the novella, and the inspiration behind it, and a quick and easy recipe for gingerbread coffee. http://www.carinauk.com/christmas-at-the-gingerbread-café

Thank you to everyone who has supported me on the journey to my first book! And there is more news to follow very soon … If you like Christmas at the Gingerbread Café, you just might like the next instalment 🙂

If you want to know a little more, here is the blurb:

Christmas is the season the Gingerbread Café was made for…but owner Lily couldn’t be feeling less merry if she tried. She’s spent another year dreaming of being whisked away on a sleigh-ride for two, but she’s facing festive season alone – again. And, just to give her another reason to feel anything other than candy-cane perky, a new shop across the road has opened… Not only is it selling baked goods, but the owner, with his seriously charming smile, has every girl in town swooning.

But Lily isn’t about to let her business crumble — the Gingerbread Café is the heart of the community, and she’s going to fight for it! This could be the Christmas that maybe, just maybe, all her dreams – even the someone-to-decorate-the-Christmas-tree-with ones – really do come true!
